Report: Galaxy to Add Zurawski

Dec. 10, 2007

According to a report in the Scottish Daily Mail, Celtic forward Maciej Zurawski could be joining up with David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer next season.

The 31-year-old striker has been riding the pine for the Scottish champions this season, making one start and four appearances as a substitute.

"I'm in full training and don't have any injuries, so there is no reason to complain," Zurawski told the Daily Mail. "But being a substitute and coming off the bench, doesn't make me happy."

Zurawski's agent, Jerzy Kopiec, is optimistic of a deal with the Galaxy being finalized in the winter transfer window.

"The offer from Galaxy is very serious," Kopiec told the Daily Mail on Saturday. "They are really determined to sign Maciej and treat him as a big star. I am flying to Los Angeles this weekend to make things official."

"The transfer window will open very soon and we will see what happens," Zurawski said. "Right now I will not say anything because nothing is sure yet."

While Zurawski has seen little of the field this season with Celtic, the Polish striker tallied 22 goals in 39 starts in league play over the previous two seasons, and started all three games for Poland in the 2006 World Cup.
